Kalaat Beni Hammad Class Landing Ship is Algeria's older landing ship class. The Kalaat Beni Hammed Class consists of tank landing ships (LST) used by the Algerian Navy. Commissioned in 1984, they are designed for amphibious operations, transporting troops and vehicles. Operationally, the class is oriented toward amphibious lift, as well as fleet sustainment and logistics.
