The Evolved Cape class patrol boats strengthen the Royal Australian Navy's domestic patrol and maritime-security force. Improved endurance, habitability and patrol systems support border protection, surveillance, fisheries and constabulary tasks in Australian waters. They are small patrol craft, but important for the routine workload that would otherwise consume larger ships.
