Public description
The Luhu Type 052 class was an early modern PLAN destroyer design that introduced a more capable sensor and weapons fit than preceding Chinese surface combatants. It served in general escort, anti-surface and patrol roles while the navy developed later area-air-defence destroyers. The class is best understood as a modernization bridge toward the Luyang and Renhai generations.
