Public description
The Ming class submarines are diesel-electric submarines acquired by the Bangladesh Navy. They are part of a modernization effort to enhance naval capabilities in the Bay of Bengal. The class is currently operational with two units in service, having been acquired in November 2016. Operationally, the class is oriented toward anti-submarine warfare, as well as mine warfare.
