The Fuchi Type 903 class is the PLAN's main modern replenishment-ship family and a major enabler of distant deployments. Fuel, stores and underway replenishment capacity allow Chinese task groups to operate far from home ports, including escort missions, exercises and carrier-group support. The class is therefore a logistics multiplier rather than a combatant.
