The Fuqing class replenishment oilers are an older logistics layer for fueling and supporting naval deployments. They helped sustain PLAN operations before the broader arrival of more modern replenishment ships. Their capability is narrower than the Type 903 family, but they remain important historically as part of China's transition to longer-range fleet operations.
