Public description
The Yuzhao Type 071 class is the PLAN's major dock landing ship and provides the backbone of Chinese long-range amphibious lift. It can carry troops, vehicles, landing craft and helicopters, giving the fleet a more flexible expeditionary landing capability than older tank landing ships. The class is central to amphibious task groups and complements the larger Type 075 LHDs.
