Public description

The Jiangwei-II Class (Type 053H3) frigates are a class of Chinese-designed vessels that entered service in the 1990s and 2000s. The Bangladesh Navy operates two of these frigates, which are equipped for anti-surface warfare. The class is currently active with no new builds planned. Operationally, the class is oriented toward fleet air defence, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, embarked helicopter operations, as well as situational awareness and combat direction.
