Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigate comprises Bahrain's transferred Perry-class frigates. The Oliver Hazard Perry class consists of guided-missile frigates designed for general-purpose escort duties. The class is currently operational with the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, having received the first ship in 1997. Operationally, the class is oriented toward fleet air defence, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, embarked helicopter operations, as well as situational awareness and combat direction.
