The Wozang Type 082-II class is a coastal minehunter focused on finding and neutralizing mines in approaches, ports and littoral waters. Its value is specialized rather than general combat power, but mine countermeasures can be decisive for amphibious and coastal operations. The class complements larger or newer MCM forces by covering local mine-clearance tasks.
