Public summary

The Iver Huitfeldt class is Denmark's principal air-defence and high-end surface escort class. APAR, SMART-L, Mk 41 and Mk 56 launchers, SM-2/ESSM missiles, Harpoon, C-Flex and helicopter facilities give the ships a strong task-group air-defence and multi-role escort profile for NATO and Baltic/North Atlantic operations. The class is central to Denmark's ability to contribute a modern frigate to alliance air-defence and maritime-security missions.
