BBPD Diving Support Vessel

Public description

The BBPD diving-support vessels support French clearance-diver groups in mine warfare, underwater explosive-ordnance disposal and harbour or seabed intervention tasks. They are small specialist enablers rather than combatants, but they matter because clearance-diver support covers missions that sonar-equipped minehunters or future unmanned MCM systems do not handle alone.
