The Yuting II Type 072A class is a tank landing ship family for regional amphibious lift and logistics over the shore. It can move vehicles and troops to austere landing areas, but it lacks the aviation capacity and command depth of the Type 071 and Type 075 classes. The class remains useful for massed amphibious transport and near-seas reinforcement.
